The Bitter Mai Tai is a highly satisfying Signature Cocktail created by New York Bartender Jeremy Oertal at Dram in Brooklyn, NYC in 2011. It's a drink that lives up to its name, offering a delightfully bitter twist on the traditional Mai Tai.

Materials

  • 1 1/2 ounce Campari
  • 3/4 ounce aged Jamaican Rum preferably Smith & Cross
  • 1/2 ounce Orange CuraƧao
  • 3/4 ounce Orgeat
  • 1 ounce freshly Squeezed Lime Juice
  • Mint Sprig to garnish

Instructions

  • Combine all the ingredients, except mint, in a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake until chilled.
  • Fill a large Tiki, rocks, beer or other glass with crushed ice.
  • Strain cocktail into ice-filled glass.
  • Add more crushed ice to over flow the top a bit.
  • Garnish with mint sprig.
