Cocktail Bitters

Cocktail bitters are concentrated extracts made from various botanical ingredients, such as herbs, spices, fruits and roots that are used in small amounts to enhance the flavor and complexity of cocktails. Bitters add depth, balance, and subtle aromatic notes, making them an essential component in almost every cocktail recipe.

Common cocktail bitter favors include Angostura, Peychaud’s, Orange, Cherry, Aromatic, Lemon and Chocolate. But there are so many more.

Reputable bitters producers known for their quality and variety include Angostura, Peychaud’s, Fee Brothers, The Bitter Truth, Bittercube and Scrappy’s Bitters.

While these are the most common flavors and producers, don’t miss out on the smaller, local brands. Many of them are producing remarkable bitters with off-beat and unique flavors, such as Apple Blossom, Black Pepper, Chile, Chicory Pecan, Root Beer, Chipotle, Jalapeno and more.
